Despite the worldwide corona epidemic the improved situation in Estonia allows for organising Sasha Mäkilä’s traditional summer conducting masterclass with the Pärnu City Orchestra on August 10-15. Four students will be working alongside maestro Mäkilä on Beethoven’s Egmont Ouverture, Mozart’s Concerto for Flute and Harp, and Brahms’ Symphony No. 2. The participants will be working with pianists during technique sessions and rehearsing the Pärnu City Orchestra during daily rehearsals. The course will culminate on a concert on Friday Aug 14 when all the participants will have a chance to conduct the orchestra in front of live audience in the Pärnu Music Center.
