This year marks the 30th edition of Prémio Jovens Músicos, the national competition for young musicians in Portugal, and this time the disciplines include orchestral conducting for the very first time. Maestro Sasha Mäkilä will serve in the jury alongside maestros Jean Marc Burfin and Joana Carneiro, and the patron of the competition Mme Teresa de Macedo. The competition will take place in Lisbon, 20th to 24th September, and twelve participants will have three rounds with Portuguese Symphony Orchestra at the S.Carlos Theatre, conducting a wide variety of repertoire.
