St Michel Strings is making a six concert tour in Asia to celebrate 150 years of Jean Sibelius. The first three concerts will take place in South Korea, in Geoje, Seoul and Yongin, and they will feature a full Sibelius program with the Korean violinist Hyuk Joo Kwun playing Sibelius Suite and Humoresques for violin and string orchestra. For the second half of the tour the orchestra will head to China, to cities Dalian, Shanghai and Shaoxin, and there the program will be fully orchestral. The tour is supported by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture as part of the Sibelius 150 festivities around the world.
